NB - No seats available -  the train is already fully booked!

Mark your agenda on Saturday the 21st of September 2013 for a full day excursion from Toulon to the alpine village of Tende on the border to Italy, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the arrival of train service to Tende.

ATTCV plans a special train with railcars for this event. The train will leave Toulon at 07.15 and between TGV and local trains via Carnoules, Les Arcs, St Raphaël and Cannes reach Nice at 09.30.

This part of the journey will take the passengers through the valleys of Côte de Provence vineyards to St Raphaël and then along the coast and the red cliffs of the Esterel mountains to the French part of the Riviera to Nice.

After a 15 min stop in Nice the train will continue on the Nice-Tende line through the pictoresque valleys of  Paillon, Bévera and Roya to reach the half-mile altitude Tende station by noon.

This part of the journey will take the passengers along the rivers, over high and low bridges, through numerous tunnels (two of which make perfect circles) and past alpine villages, with fantastic views of the mountains.

During the four hour stop in Tende, the passengers will have time to have a lunch at one of the local restaurants, visit the Musée des Merveilles, Maison du Mercantour, Maison du Miel de l'Abeille, the old fort and stroll along the vindling streets of the village.

The train will return to Toulon at 21.00.
