Stopping at the Thorame Haute railway station a few weeks ago and seeing the state of the three Chemin de Fer de Provence railcar trailers XR-1341, XR-1343 and XR-1344 parked there made me feel really sorry.
Rust, graffitti, smashed windows, interior degraded in various ways ...The photos speak for themselves.
It's a real shame that some kind of people no longer have any respect for our heritage. In stark contrast to those voluntaries who spend most or all of their spare time to restore and maintain our railway heritage.
I've also noted that there are (on and off) a few railcars parked at
Puget-Théniers station, also in a somewhat degraded state (but with so far no or much less
internal damage).
Is it too much to hope for an additional, new group of
volunteers? A group of enthusiasts interested in saving, restoring,
maintaining and keeping in operation CP railcars. Similarly to what GECP
and
ATTCV since long have been doing - and are still doing.
